Sugar Land Splash Pads that are Free to the Public
W e are in the midst of Summer here in Sugar Land, TX which means it is HOT! If you are looking for something to do outside with the kiddos that won’t have you regretting the heat, here are two Sugar Land splash pads you may want to visit.
While there are plenty of private neighborhood splash pads within the master-planned communities in Sugar Land, the two options listed below are free and open to the public! ?
Smart Financial Centre Splash Pad
Here is a fun option for the kids at Smart Financial Centre. This water feature is a splash pad during the day and then transitions into a water feature showpiece after 4PM when there is not an event scheduled in the evening.

- Monday: 12PM – 4PM
- Tuesday – Sunday: 8AM – 4PM

RiverPark Splash Pad
This splash pad is a great option with a lot of different water elements including a misting rainbow, buckets that dump water from high above, and giant fountains for the kids to have fun and keep cool. It is located next to the RiverPark recreation center.

- Sunrise to Sunset with the exception of Tuesday which is noon to sunset

Families with Older Kids
If your kids are a little older, there is a great waterpark just up the road, Typhoon Texas in Katy near I-10 and 99. This park is less than a 30 minute drive from Sugar Land and has plenty of fun rides and attractions for all ages.
There are also plenty of food options to choose from including ‘The River Grill’, ‘Smoke House BBQ’, ‘Ray’s Pizzeria & Italian Icehouse’, and ‘The Taco Shack’.
